Caroline ran a domiciliary care agency in Bath and North East Somerset for 25 years, from 2001 until she sold it in 2026. At its height it employed more than 40 people across care and administration and delivered up to 2,000 hours of care a week.
That is the whole job rather than one corner of it: CQC compliance and inspection, safeguarding, payroll and rotas, council tenders and contract negotiation, and the provider meetings where local authorities and agencies argue about rates. The parts of running a care agency that never appear in a brochure are the parts she spent 25 years on.
